Leasing Public School Buildings: Request for Qualifications

Mayor Fenty and Deputy Mayor Reinoso

On March 17, 2008, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to District of Columbia public charter schools interested in leasing public school buildings. The closing date for this RFQ was 5 PM on April 4, 2008.

The purpose of this RFQ was to help ensure that the District of Columbia’s public inventory of excess public school space is used by qualified organizations whose mission contributes to the education of the residents of the District of Columbia.

An RFQ will be released once a year for this purpose. Schools that are approved through the RFQ process will have the opportunity to respond to any notice released by this office announcing available space. Approved schools will also be considered for future DCPS co-location opportunities. Those schools that are not approved during this round will have the opportunity to respond to next year’s RFQ.

If you have any questions about the RFQ, please contact Claudia Luján.
